SANTA SARAH
In the nineteen nineties Ivailo Genowski founded his winery named after his daughter Sarah. Since the time that he sold millions of bottles with the Boyar group in Germany, he always considered Bulgaria to be a high-quality terroir, and in the course of the years he was able to achieve his dream: producing Bulgarian Grands Crus. He did not have any land and moved around from vine to vine with his caravan, looking for the best plots of land. He signed his first contracts with winegrowers to obtain high-quality grapes and constructed his winery to make wine in Stara Zagora. Ivailo’s genius led to enormous success right from the very first wines produced. His wines were and are considered to be amongst the best in Bulgaria. It is what we call “Garage wine”. With the success he has had in Bulgaria, he has now invested and owns 40 hectares of vineyards in Goritza near to the Black Sea. At present the winery produces over 300,000 bottles a year. Despite the ever increasing success in Bulgaria where any plot available is dug up, Ivailo Genowski ardently strives to ensure that Bulgarian quality wines have a good reputation. And so he reserves a good deal of his production for export. Both the red and the white of the “Santa Sarah” and the “Ivailo Genowski” ranges are very high-class wines. The “BLACK C” range offers the wines for the lower end of the market which are of a rare quality: fresh, fruity and delicate tannins are the keywords. |
